
ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY: ESPER HOSTING, INC.
1. USE AND MISUSE OF RESOURCES
As the resources of The Cooperative are shared among all members, at no time shall any member
abuse or misuse the resources of The Cooperative. Specifically, no member shall use more than
his share of the the resources as allocated in the account; and any member whose use of services
negatively effects other members' use of resources may have his account and services suspended
and/or terminated.
The Cooperative will not tolerate the use of its servers for unsolicited bulk email (commonly
referred to as spam.) Using The Cooperative's services and/or resources for the receipt of replies
to unsolicited mass email sent from another network is prohibited. Forgery of email headers is
prohibited. Running a mail server that accepts messages for sending without user identification or
authentication (open relays) is prohibited.
IRC connections are not permitted.
2. SECURITY & ILLEGAL ACTIVITY
All members must make a reasonable attempt to keep all resources and/or services updated and
patched with the latest security errata. The Cooperative is not responsible for the security of
members' resources and/or services. Any compromised services will be disconnected from the network
immediately to minimize security threats to other members and protect member data. No credits will
be issued for outages resulting from disconnection due to compromised security.
Violations of system or network security are strictly prohibited, and may result in criminal and/or
civil liability. The Cooperative will cooperate with law enforcement if a criminal violation is
suspected.
No member shall use services rendered by The Cooperative to engage in any unlawful activity.
3. FRAUD, IP ADDRESS USE, AND RESALES
Members must provide contact and payment information to Esper Hosting and member must be authorized
to use the payment method. Commitment of fraud or attempting to obtain services by any means with
intent to avoid payment is prohibited.
The Cooperative may allocate IP addresses to specific members. Members shall not use IP addresses
that were not assigned to them by The Cooperative. Any account utilizing IP addresses outside of its
assigned range will be suspended until the IP address overlap can be corrected. The use of an
unauthorized IP address will result in a penalty of $100.
Resellers are responsible for the conduct of their customers and agree that their customers will
follow the Acceptable Use Policy. Resellers agree to make their customers aware of the
Acceptable Use Policy.
